Taking care of Business through business education
Posted Monday, January 23, 2006 4:09:53 PM by Kate Grant

In ancient times, if you were born to a family of merchants, you had a good chance of becoming a merchant yourself.

This However, has changed, as we no longer need to learn a trade from our father or spend time as an apprentice, bound to take over the family business in time. Obtaining business management education, or majoring in business, will help you develop vast business skills and will give you the opportunity to study the issues affecting today's business climate.

Business EducationMany business programs and curriculums are catering to the needs of working students. They might offer morning, evening, or weekend classes, or even an online class.

All you need to do, is come to class ready to work with numbers, learn from professional businessmen who visit your class, and have interest in business related topics.

You will, no doubt, find these topics on your Syllabus. During your studies, you'll decide if you'd like to focus more on preparing yourself to work or for further education.

You might attend business conferences as part of your business education, and learn from the great business education teachers how it's done in the big world.

Want to know what is the best business school for you? Financial time already did all the work for you.

Guests at this month's Northeast Leadership Forum's annual luncheon included mayors, city council members, business executives and education professionals -- people one could safely assume aren't shy, retiring souls. The crowd of more than 300 of Northeast Tarrant County's movers and shakers heard U.S. Education Secretary Margaret Spellings give a report card on the No Child Left Behind program during remarks at the Hyatt Regency DFW. After dining on steak at tables featuring pussy willows and James Story's orchid centerpieces, Spellings spoke from prepared remarks. She even localized it for us Southerners, inserting a "you all" instead of "you" in her speech. She spoke about shifting demographics, the important work ahead, "having all students on grade level by 2014" and school improvements to keep a competitive advantage....

A year in education: England

If one image could sum up education news in 2006, it would be Jamie Oliver and a plate of burgers, chips and beans. That is only partly because this year brought new, tougher guidelines governing school food. While others have campaigned long and hard for the same end, it was Jamie Oliver who galvanised the government into action. But there is another reason why the celebrity chef is a symbol of 2006: he personifies the government's new susceptibility to the influences of external lobbyists. After several years in which they had a free rein to direct education reform, ministers now face many new and stronger challengers. For a start, critics on the Left have grown in confidence after the successes of the concerted campaign against the Education and Inspections Bill....

Business community reactions to wage increase conflict
Posted Saturday, November 11, 2006 11:06:26 PM by Blog57 Team
Business advocates argue workers throughout the Buckeye State should be concerned with Tuesday's passage of Issue 2, the minimum wage amendment, because of economic and privacy reasons, even though it still may be too early to know the full effects of the expected wage increase set to hit in January.Proponents of the amendment, comprised of a multi-state community organization, hail the amendment's passage because a minimum wage increase is long overdue. But a University of Toledo finance professor says any increased unemployment numbers from the issue's passage Tuesday should be short-lived and he believes a more proactive approach to increasing wages throughout the state would be through high-skill training. ....
